Of a Colt M4 flat top's charging handle latch cutout. Just got an M4 upper (Colt) and while looking it over, noticed the cutout for the charging handle latch is not cut deep enough to actually hold the latch in place. Is this normal, or should I send it back to Colt? I have an Armalite flat top, and it has a full oval cut deep enough for the latch, but the Colt has a 1/2 oval, and its nowhere near deep enough. Thanks for any help.

I would send it back. you paid too much for a rifle that has some flaws in it, that shouldn't be.

I plan on sending it back Monday. Anyone ever delt with Colt's service department? If so, what can I expect?

oh i forgot to add, it's a bushy m4 flat-top.  as far as it being normal, i'd say no regardless of the mfg.

Yep, that's the one of which I am speaking. I am going to try to call them to get a Return Authorization # tomorrow. Is this a good idea, or should I just send it in cold?

Yep, mine is so light, there is no upper 1/2, just a very light lower 1/2 oval, that does not even start to hold anything. I KNEW I should have bought a Bushy.
