I would like to know a little more about the laws concerning these and any other pertinent information about them.

For example, how would one go about getting one?  What type of paperwork is there?  Is there any fees?  Is it even legal?  Is there some qualification?  etc., etc....

Some info someone about me.  I'm in Texas and am 18.  If anyone could help me out or point me to a good website with this information would be very helpful.  I ask for this help because I believe a short barrelled Krinkov or AR would be something very cool to have.  Thanks in advance...

Look into the legal forum and the M16 full auto forum, you might find what you need there. You also need to keep in mind that your state may have restrictions of it's own.
