I want to mount an Aimpoint sight out over the barrel of an A2.  Do I want to go with the ARMS #39 mount, or the Aimpoint gooseneck mount?

I would make sure the Aimpoint will co-witness on the #39 (if you are wanting this).
I have an ARMS #39, the C-More, OKO and ATN UltraSights will not co-witness on the #39, I tried.
I would suggest testing it first or buy the scout mount for the Aimpoint. Let me know, the Aimpoint is what I was going to try next.

Both are good choices and will co-witness.

The choice boils down to this:

Aimpoint Goosneck:  Inexpensive (about $40)

Arms #39:  Allows you to move the Aimpoint closer to the front sight.  By pushing it further out it makes it easier to use with both eyes open.

The hard-core guys seem to prefer the #39.

Forest,
The Aimpoint will co-witness on the #39?
Thank You for this info!!!!
As I stated in the post above, I've tried a few sights with no luck on my #39. I like the #39 and want to use it. An Aimpoint it will be!
Thanks!

Yes - you will have to use the Aimpoint Rail Grabber mount and the spacer IIRC.

There are several on this board that use that setup - talk with them in the Optics section.

Go to www.kieslersonline.com/product/ko_armsmounts.asp

They have the #39 for $112. Cheapest I've found. Everyone else wants $125.
