I have a J&T 24" Bull Barreled upper that I wanted to install an Oly Arms FIRSH on it. The barrel is quite thick, something like 1 1/16" in diameter where the barrel nut is. I have a DMPS wrench that works great for removing the barrel nut on HBARs, but the opening is too small to fit around the bull barrel.
I can remove the free float tube, and the FIRSH actually threads onto the existing barrel nut, but it has a lip on it that prevents the last 1/2 turn I need to get the FIRSH tight to the upper reciever.
I have heard suggestions of using a drum sander to open up the wrench to 1" or more remove the free float barrel nut, but I wanted to see if anyone sold a wrench that works for this.
If I have to open up an existing armorers wrench, I may as well get a second wrench. I figured since J&T installs these, they would know where to get the proper tool for the job. I did not see any wrenches for sale on the J&T website.
