With the new EE I need you help in posting pics and commentsd about the Micro Dot here.
Thanks Marshall |

Bought the little T-1 knockoff because it's got a good rep. here on arfcom and at $90 it's significantly cheaper than Aimpoint.
I am very impressed with this little guy. Nice and bright and hefty. Not your usual Chinese made crap. I highly recommend it. I use it on my VEPR AK on a forward mounted Ultimak rail over the gas tube. Alone it sat too low for me and obscured about 1/4 to 1/3 of the circle, but you could almost co-witness it with the irons. I bought the YHM 1/2 riser and it popped it up to the perfect height. You can, in no way, co-witness it now with the irons, but I like the optic level, it's completely unobstructed and works great. I'd prefer to have it on a short throw-mount, but when YHM's screw on mount is $17 and an ARMS throw mount costs $90, I just went with the YHM. It's not my bug-out gun and I shoot it for fun so I'm not concerned. Maybe someday I'll grab a throw mount for it. But I highly recommend the optic. Fantastic value and outstanding quality. I'll probably buy another when i get another ultimak gas tube mounted rail for my Saiga 12. Will post a pic when I have time. |

Marshall, Thank's for selling one cheap (cost wise) red dot! This little guy is the trick. The sight is very well made and looks like it will stand strong for some time to come.
I will be mounting it on my new 11" AR57 SBR. I am going to have to go with the .5 YHM riser for it. The only thing that I can see that need to be changed is for the retaning screw to be a tad shorter. I noticed as the sight is tight on the rail the screw sticks out about 1/8th of an inch past the base. Not too bad but I can see a nice knuckle scrape in my future. I will be on the look out for a shorter screw at Lowes. All in all I like it! I may order one for our Rem870 later. Thanks again, Greg |

Here is my Micro Dot set up combined with Primary Arms' 3Xmag(Running A.R.M.S. #17DR and Medium spacer):

Any idea if this will work on my Ruger Mark III with the standard mount or will I need a optional riser. The Mark III has a weaver mount std. Also, is the 3 MOA dot small enough for small game (rabbit, squirrel) or will the dot cover the animal?

Also, is the 3 MOA dot small enough for small game (rabbit, squirrel) or will the dot cover the animal? The weaver mount will work just fine. I have not hunted with one but dot will cover approximately 4" of the target at 100 yards. Marshall |

Mike - Do you know does that ARMS 17DR w/med spacer provide a lower 1/3 co-witness or an absolute co-witness? It is an absolute co-witness, you might be able to pull off a 1/3 co-witness with the full spacer since it will raise the optic 0.113. |

OK. So what height does the riser need to be to cowitness? 3/4"?
|
|
I have one on a 1 inch riser that gives bottom 1/3 co-withness.
|
|
So glad I found this, now I've gpt an alternative to my Burris FastFire which is rather difficult to use.
Can't wait for the next shipment to come in with the new mounts! |

So the micro dot will not co-witness with an AK and ultimak combo?

Who other than ARMS makes a good mount for the micro-dot to co-witness (either lower 1/3rd or absolute) with a fixed AR15 FSB?
Guessing this won't mount onto the Larue mount? Looking for an optic for a .22lr upper. |

Looking for an optic for a .22lr upper. They are talking about a riser for the Gen 1 Micro Dot. It is discontinued but the gen 2/3 versions due next month will have a removable base. It will have a riser option and fit the LaRur riser. http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb190/marsh2001/Web%20photos/micromounted.jpg Gen 3 with killflash http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb190/marsh2001/Web%20photos/MicroKF.jpg Thanks for the quick reply/info... I'll prolly have to grab my place in line as soon as funds become available in the gun account again. Edit to add: M4 clone ordered to tide my .22lr upper over till the Gen2/Gen3 become available. Couldn't stand the thought of an un-optic'd upper. |

I'm thinking about one of these for my 22LR AR. Can anyone tell me what's the shortest carry handle mount out there?

The micro dot will co witness on an AK with an ultimak rail. Ive put about 600 rounds through it since mounting the dot. It holds zero. Its accurate. Phenomenal little dot sight for the money.
It is the generation 1 micro dot. I eagerly await the new batch. http://perfectunion.com/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=16541&d=1247942478 |

You are not the only person waiting for this item friend. Maybe some time in the future this item will come with the circle dot. That would be great!
Just received my second multi dot. That sight is very good and has worked well on both my ARs and AK74. |

I signed up for the newsletter when I ordered the M3 clone on Friday. (BTW, it's sitting at my post office as I type this. Your cust. service is of the highest order!)
Just wondering if you'll send a newsletter out when the Micros are available? I'll certainly buy one the moment they're in but I'm too lazy to keep checking the forums as you can tell from my "low" post count. News of these sights is starting to hit the AK forums (how I found out about them) and if my M3 clone is up to par with all I've read, I'll certainly pass the word along to a few other forums. I know a some people who would be interested in a quality, low cost red dot that doesn't give up the ghost when you throw a few rounds against it and sold by a vendor who actually gives a crap. |

Yes I will send a product arrival notice to everyone that is on the email list. That will go out the same day they go on the web site. |

Marshall, do you have any updates on "time window" for when these should show up (months, weeks, etc)?

Marshall, do you have any updates on "time window" for when these should show up (months, weeks, etc)? I am hoping by the end of the month. I am pushing the factory on magnifier mounts as I am completely out. They should be shipping in a few days and they I will ask for a update on the Micros. I wish I could get more exact ETA but it just doesn't happen. At first I thought is was because I was a small player but now I see that all the major brands miss delivery dates with their import products. |

Is there such a thing as a carry handle mount for a Micro Dot? I'd love to put one on my AR pistol build, but it has an A1 style carry handle upper.

Marsh, any chance these were included in your recent shipment?

Marsh, any chance these were included in your recent shipment? No. They were in production but I didn't want to hold up the order that just arrived any longer. |

Marsh, whats the usual time for one of your shipments to clear customs? Just wondering if its mostly a formality, or are they really going to fine tooth comb every shipment.
|

Any pictures of microdot with 3x or 5x magnifier and will they line up correctly?

It will have a riser option and fit the LaRue riser. Would it be safe to assume it will fit the new Daniel Defense T1 riser as well? |

They are over on the "Patience" aisle.
Mid-Oct seems about right. |

The Micros are bring prduced so it won't be long. I am not sure if the risers will arrive at the same time.

Anybody tried one of these Micros on a forward rail mount? How does a small sight like this work that far out - is it easy to pick up?
