I too received the e-mail. I think I'll wait on the sidelines for this one. I'm not a good beta tester.
How does this work? Dedicated lower? What mags? Not finding any info anywhere on this thing.
non-chrome-lined barrel....Not even melonited.
Pass. Would pass anyway but.....yeah... |
Unfortunately my wallet says I'll be on the sidelines. To many unfinished guns and projects right now. Come spring, oh yah!!
I'm very interested! PSA -- please make a 14.7" pinned 7.62 upper
with a FN chrome lined barrel, a front sight block, and the Vortex flash hider -- then take my money |

its a standard lower, with a dedicated upper. use ASC mags, and away you go. I built one on my nobo as a m4 clone.. SO just like our president, its american appearing, but commie inside. http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp158/Purple_92_SS/Personal/My%20Guns/Ar15s/ARAK%20PSA%20NOBO/DSCF9536_zpsf6c268a3.jpg View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Spaghetti just came out of my nose! |

i am impressed they managed to fit a carbine length gas system on a 7" barrel.
"Barrel: 7", chrome moly vanadium. Chambered in 7.62x39mm, with a 1/10 twist, and a carbine-length gas system. Barrel is finished off with an .750" diameter low-profile gas block, 7" SQR rail, and Vortex flash hider." |

So this fits on a standard ar-15 lower? I always thought the x39 cartridge was too long for the mag well in an ar-15?

That's my thoughts, still haven't heard any range reports about the PA9. I guess people just put them in their safes. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Probably has something to do with them sending out non-ramped bolts with sstandard AR hammers. Not much else anyone can do put let them sit in the safe unless they want to go buy more parts. |

Agree with this. Especially with all the cases of out of spec chambers in the PA10s popping up .. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

i will be more interested if it's AK74, can use hacked magpul 556 mag
well its not a bad thing.
the rounds are wider obviously so you can fit only like 25 in a mag, and the curvature of the ASC mags, make it easier to feed the rounds too. |

Count me amongst those who are going to wait and see. As interested as I am in these caliber options, the lack of reports on the 9mm version are not encouraging. Does the PA9 not work?

I wonder why they would do this before a .22 lr upper. I am sure they are going to be great and all, but I doubt the market is that huge for x39 ARs compared to rimfires.

I'll sit this one out...thanks.
Having growing pains with the PA10 im not ready to be another test subject. But the question has to be asked... ak mag lower coming??? |

You would think they would work on building in spec items and shipping them to buyers in a timely fashion before venturing into something else.

View Quote Agreed, PSA needs to set better quality control standards for the parts suppliers. I don't think a lot of people realize that PSA is not a manufacturing operation they are a an assembly operation, everything is made by other companies and then the PSA name is stamped on it. |

But the question has to be asked... ak mag lower coming??? a lower to accept standard ak mags? Doubtful. would be kinda cool tho That would be nice, but I'd also like to see a 16" mid-length. I just built a decent 16" (carbine ) with a Tactical Ambush barrel, bolt, and adjustable gas block...works great now that I turned the gas all the way down. With the gas restricted, it cycles reliably, ejects well, and locks the bolt back every time on an empty ASC mag...previously over-gassed, it was rough and would not lock back every time. With an RDS, it makes a great hog and deer gun down here in the brush where you don't get long shots. |
more and more i consider taking an 80% and trying to make something of it for ak mags.

they just introduced the PSAK-47 on their facebook page from shotshow
