Yes, I found a couple of used ones on the EE, but I need to use the plastic to get one... I need one for my A4gery project. ETA: I now own one! |
Hoplite inc. in SGN sells them. They also sell the upper and lowers. 940 for the complete rifle and 600 for the upper with B/BC/CH

This isn't going to help much but I just picked up a NIB one off of gunbroker for $930 shipped. Ammoman has 2 listed for $899 delievered but both are marked 'on hold'. It might be worth while to see if they have become available again.
Not to get to far off topic but I noticed mine is stamped Colt Defense. Is that normal for the Match Target rifles? |
Since it's marked Colt Defense, what bolt carrier did you MT6700 come with ?
It has an AR15 carrier. The gun is NIB but I believe it to be an older produced gun. Before Jan 04. Comparing it to my LE6920 I noticed the following. MT6700 No M4 feedramps bolt carrier is lightly marked C bolt is marked MPC and had white dot. LE6920 M4 feedramps bolt carrier has a profound C bolt is only marked with a very faint C |

I'll ask my dealer on Monday to make a couple of calls for you, and let you know who has one |

These people list having the MT6700 bare muzzle model in stock.

Thats the first time I've seen a MT6700 rollmarked like that, very nice looking though. I guess Colt Defense makes all the MT and LEO lowers. It makes sense being that they have the same pin diameters for the FCG and the castings are the same. The only difference are the MT/LEO rollmarks. Do you know when it was made ? Check the date behind the FSB. |
The barrel date stamp is under the hand guards, and it was most likely built after may 2004 |
Man, I hate taking off the handguards. Didn't think I was ever going to get them back onto the M4gery but I now you have me curious.
I was told this rifle original sold in Jan 04 but was never shot. I just got it 2 weeks ago. |
I have seen a few that were made before May 04 that had the Colt Defense Stamp, but not very many |
Just looked. 05/03 |

I'm going to my dealer and he's going to find me one, so I think I am all set.
The newer 6700s come with the front push take-down pin? What year did they start doing that, because I see 6700s on the EE that have the screw front take-down pin. |
I had one that ws made in 2000 and it was drilled for the detent even though it came with the screw. Look for the small drain hole in the mag fence, if it's there then that means it's drilled and ready to go.
For the most part I found that most of the MT6700 are drilled for the detent. |
Well a 6700 should be to my dealer on Thursday (09/08). I'll find out if it has the proper push thru take-down pins!
The MT6700C came in to my gun shop last night. God the compensator on that thing is ugly!
I stopped in to put down the deposit and check it out. It has the front push take down pin. I can't wait to pick it up on Monday! |
No, I didn't think to check that. I hope it does. I'll post back on Monday night to let you know. |
Well I picked up my MT6700C at lunch time. It does have the front push take down pin, but does not have the RAS markings. Bummer. It does not have the M4 feedramps though the upper is marked M4 and mine came with a semi-auto bolt carrier. Also a bummer. |

Rub the stock down with some oil, and that will darken up nice too |
Did a little more playing with the new 6700 and found it has a plastic buffer?
What's up with that?? |
If your upper is stamped M4 by the delta ring it should have the M4 feedramps
My 6700 also had a plastic buffer. There were some posts a few years ago from people who experienced major problems with it. Apparently, the internal wieghts in the buffer shot through the front of the buffer and into the upper reciever, jamming the upper and lower shut. I changed mine out with a Metallic buffer/spring assembly from bushmaster and haven't looked back. Since its only $35 for the bushy buffer assy, I suggest you do the same.
**Also** I remember my plastic buffer had a small hole near the front end of the assembly. It can get caught up in the buffer retaining pin and be stuck for good. If your buffer has that small hole PROCEED WITH CAUTION |
It is stamped 'M4' on the upper and does not have the M4 feedramps. |
My 6700 does not have M4 feedramps, rail markings, or M16 carrier.
It does have a metal buffer though. |

Hey guys, just thought I'd chime in here from north of the border....
I just recently bought a new Colt MT6601 (Match Target HBAR) up here. This is how it came: - standard front push-pin, Colt oversized fire control pins - lower marked "Colt Defense" - barrel was chrome chamber (except for the chamber face), non-chrome bore, date stamped 03/04, and sports the "target type" muzzle crown - upper is a Colt/Cerro Forge production (and for some reason is "blacker" than the "black-grey" that my lower is - even after soaking both halves with oil/clp). No M4 stamp above the cloverleaf, no RAS numbers, and no M4 ramps - half circle carrier is deeply stamped with Colt "C" - bolt is MPC stamped and had the white paint dot on it - buffer was the crappy plastic variety - A2 trapdoor buttstock had the correct aluminum trap door on it - unlike a few I've seen up here with the crappy plastic (with crappy "fold" hinge) trap door. I've always liked A2's so I kept the upper on it. I've since had the barrel replaced with a fully chrome lined NIW Colt HBAR barrel from Numrich (bonus 'cuz these ones are threaded for flash hiders) and I've purchased a Colt A2 flashider and milspec aluminum buffer to put into it. The only thing it lacks is a bayo lug - which I guess I can live without for now.... hsld. |
Where in the hell is the pic?!?! |
LOL! I should have seen that one coming....
I'll get pics up as soon as the flash hider and buffer come in - still waiting on delivery of these parts... hsld. |
I got my replacement buffer today. I bought a new Colt metal rifle buffer off the EE to replace the plastic one. I guess the plastic one can go in the parts box. |
I found one that isn't drilled on the magfence, so my question is, who will fix this where I can use a standard pushpin?
Colt rifles do not have extended feedramps. They are only spec on a carbine.
