I have to take a minute here to offer my condolences to the Colt employee family, both past and present, for the recent passing of Dominic Montessi. I was privileged and honored to have known him if only for a short time. He will always be known to me as the grouchy little guy who was still generous with his time and shared some priceless Colt history with me. When talking to him, his insight into the machinery used and history of Colt left no doubt that not only was he part of the factory, but the factory was part of him.
Attached FileThank you Dominic for being a gracious person with such a lively personality. May you rest easy. Save us a seat inside the pearly gates. So many will miss your spirit through the days.
In this amazing hobby of ours, so many people are fixated on the material things...that rifle, the next great optic, the new hitech weaponlight. Sadly so many never take time to truly get to know people or build relationships. Take time to build relationships because without friendships and people to share this passion with, all of this is just meaningless stuff.
I meant to do this a couple of days ago and life got me sidetracked. I am sorry for that.
