Yeah... I was fence sittting on a 14.5" upper for my tOBR.
Now I'm trying to figure out how I can justify a 260 upper for my FDE tAR Heavy three days after picking up an STI. |

Exactly what I'm thinking. ML is trying to get me busted with the wife.

The PRI Gasbuster is AR AIDS if you're left handed. $225 of leftover stuff if I just stuff this upper on my tAR Heavy. My Wife may do me bodily harm. The Cerakote won't exactly match. Are there any others we can knock down in page 1? View Quote |

Have a .308 kit in my cart, trying to be strong and not hit submit.

Mark,
Slow your roll I feel like you are water boarding us!!! in a good way!!! |

It's a great offering, but it's lacking several of the key PredatOBR features. But then again, $2k for an adjustable gas system, lower receiver and different handguard and upper receiver is steep. Will future available lower receivers be offered? View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

If you have a tAR heavy you don't really need this. Already have a 308 & 260 barrel (if you picked up the option). View Quote |

I'm gonna need to figure out what lower will absolutely work well and fit well with these uppers. If there is a known, available, quality lower that will work well without fiddle farting around then I'm in on one of these.

That's the top shelf kit to end all kits. Well done!
ETA: So.... what lowers are compatible with that upper? |

Although I'm not turned completely off by an exposed gas block, the half inch extra of exposed tube made me punt on the 260 / TAR setup. (I was in the first 125, so it wasn't in the initial offering). View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Does not appear to have Port Selector Technology™ (PST) gas block choice. Why is that not an option in this?
|

Quoted:
It was not, be we were afforded the option after the 125-500 were set loose. I don't mind a slightly exposed gas BLOCK, but having the tube extend out is slightly unsightly, I agree. That said, I went with the 22" option for range work and for that it works fine. This upper doesn't fix that either though, the hand guard is the same length. The gas system for the 260 is simply really long and a 14.5" rail too short to accommodate, a 15" would took great though. View Quote Anyhow, I'm trying to cash in my kitchen pass... will see how that goes. |
|
So, this would be the first time a heavy 7.62 barrel has been offered with a single gas port, huh? That's tempting for those of us with other brand suppressors. Install an SLR and enjoy almost unlimited gas tuning capability.
|
|
Quoted:
The 14.5" is half an inch longer, than the TAR, which means it's going to line up with just a 'touch' of the tube showing but not enough for a 1/2" barricade to fit between the block and rail. (Actually quite similar to the setup Mk 12 I think). Anyhow, I'm trying to cash in my kitchen pass... will see how that goes. View Quote Good luck! |

This is a stellar deal. Is there a list of compatible lowers floating around anywhere?
|
|
Will this fit Armalite AR10-B pattern lowers? I mean it looks like it but...
eta Oh hell, I do have an Aero M5 that is DPMS pattern. I guess I could go that route. |

I'm sure I'm wrong, but the FDE coating on my UU really felt like paint, not ceramic. Can anyone confirm or is the propriety information? |

Just got the email....hmm. Been debating either a 6.5g pistol or a shorty .308. Wish I could get it with a 12.5" barrel.
|

Great, now the rest of my day in the office will be composed of massive research on the .260 cartridge, large frame lowers, then followed by a 1200 dollar CC charge. Single life is tough!

I have a 260 upper in my cart. Just not sure on the lower fitment choice. DPMS or roll the dice on a possible Larue lower offering.

I feel like a dumbass for sinking as much money as I have into a tOBR with this kind of a smoking deal . Wonder if this will kill the resale value of my current rifle. Congrats to all who can jump on this deal.

Mark, are the gas systems different/longer for the 16 and 20" 308 barrels?
