Back in Stock.
Nothing wrong with Del-Ton kits. I have three Del-Ton barrels and one complete upper. I took the upper apart and made an A2 upper with the barrel and BCG.
BCG seemed to run good with no hiccups when in the complete upper or in the A2 upper. ETA: Del-Ton BCG is pretty much mil-spec and supposed to be HPT/MPI.
Just so you know, that upper is not chrome lined. That description says it's 4140, but I think it's supposed to say 4150 (CMV). Del-Ton description says 4150.
I would call both and verify though. Midway will probably not know, as they are call answerer's and tell you what the description says.
Del-Ton CSRs are nice and knowledgeable people and be able to tell you. I ordered off their site and over the phone with them when I called with questions.
Plus, Del-Ton won't care if your ordering from MidwayUSA and just be happy your ordering Del-Ton.
Nothing wrong with ordering it through Midway USA, that's where I got my Del-Ton upper from. Your just looking at the kit, which has LPK and Stock Kit with it.
MidwayUSA ships pretty fast, usually within two days, if not the next day.
As far as price goes... That's about average and don't think you could buy all the parts for cheaper.
Accuracy, I think you will be happily amused as all four of the Del-Ton barrels I have are very accurate (about +/- 2 MOA) with M193 Lake City/Federal.
That's all I shoot, so can't comment on any other ammo.
My only concern is that kit is not chrome lined. Depending on what you want to do with the upper, it probably doesn't matter, just take a little more care of it.
I was only thinking, if you sign up under the Del-Ton's Discount Thread (pinned above), you get an additional 3% or so off your order from Del-Ton direct.
If you call Del-Ton, they answer, answer your questions, tell you what's available and when (approximately) it will ship.
It costs a little bit more, but you can order exactly what you want.
Like... The Del-Ton 14.5" 4150 CL upper then have a BCM A2X pinned and welded by your gunsmith for around $25.
Then build your lower with the best quality/priced parts you can get... then you have a pretty reliable rifle for a reasonable price and you know what you got.
I see you found ARFCOM with the PSA IT/shipping fiasco. You'll get your order... just give it a little bit.
Del-Ton would be happy to have you have you as a customer also.
Welcome to ARFCOM and to BRD (Black Rifle Disease) !
Good Luck!
