hello!

I am preparing to relieve some plastic off of my Savage's stock.   Because you want to be able to slide a dollar bill all the way up to the lug correct?

at a point above the swivel mount on rifle barrel the stock curls over and is touching the barrel...I cannot pass anything through that point

this penny will slide right down the barrel channel from front (without touching) until it reaches this tight spot...the barrel channel curls beyond a 180 degree arc....it is this excess that I think needs to be relieved.  Am I correct in thinking this?

the dollar bill has been slid from barrel towards receiver and has met resistance

I fo'd

removed this much material by scraping...I think I'll take a little more off to keep the spacing consistent as it is a bit tight still.

Looks like you have in licked.

The barrel isn't hitting that screw where the penny is resting is it?
