Thanks to the WM Clearance thread over in GD, I was able to pick up the last 2 Barnett Whitetail Hunter II crossbows a nearby WalMart found (I think they had lost track of them in their inventory after the last clearance sale on these).

I would like to put these back for long-term storage for future use and continue using my Quad-400 until it gets weak.  Should I have the strings removed from these "new" crossbows so I can store them with the limbs relaxed?  Or will that hurt them rather than help?

How long are you talking about. I have a WH2, it just hangs on a hook; a little over a year old. Same for my back up (a Terrain it's 2 years old)

If you have a press and know what you are doing I would probably go ahead and unstring it.
