Keep’em coming! Working my way down this list and trying for the Montrose now.

I think 20m is gone for me here on the east coast. I will try tomorrow unless they head over to 40m. Very cool event.

I was trying to get K4DSR right as a foreign music station started up over the top of him.

I just had a QSO with NE6JP on board the USS Potomac, F.D.R.'s "Floating White House" in San Francisco Bay.
I was their first contact of the day! eta: 14.242 Just received a 59 report from K0FPO. I guess the antenna is working. |

Quoted: Just got the USS Turner Joy on 14.277 in freaking Bremerton, Washington. He read me at a 57. I can't believe my 100w signal from an OCFD made it all the way out there! View Quote Awesome! I had to work this morning, then run out of town after that, so I've had very little radio time today. I did snag a few of them today (Ticonderoga, Nautilus, Savannah, and Lucid) to add to the few I got last night. I have to mow my yard when I get home from town, so I'm missing out. |

View Quote No kidding! Prior to this, I think you are the farthest west contact I've made. Wait, I take that back, I did reach another one of us in WI. They're doing this tomorrow, too, so you can get more. |

Just don't call them boats! I did it in jest and got corrected right quick. LOL.
No disrespect intended, I joke with my ex navy neighbor about it. |

Local club is working from the museum of the original in Whitehall. It is the wooden hulk retrieved from where it was intentionally hidden and sunk to prevent capture by the British. |

I just got in to the battleship New Jersey, NJ2BB. He was calling QRZ and nobody was coming back to him. I jumped in and he came right back to me. This was on 20 meters.
I was 57 into NJ, and he was 59 into northern IL. Very cool! |

Got the USS Iowa NI6BB on 14.261 this morning.
I hear them on 28.400 also. |
|
Went back on last night after watching a movie and grabbed the USS Lucid, in Stockton CA! My first time hitting CA, and with only 100w and an OCFD antenna.
I also got a station in Calgary, AB, and another in Beaverton, OR (neither were part of the Museum Ships event) so the propagation gods were smiling upon me last night. |
|
Just picked up the USS Hornet on 14.250
Band is like yesterday, better E-W than N-S for me. Can barely hear CA but NE was S9+5. |

Not as many contacts as last year they say. I am listening to them chatter on 2m on their way home. |

I would have loved to get the USS Nautilus. I was actually on it when I was in CT. I went on the tour and got to see it on the inside.
Amazing how cramped it is inside. Tight quarters indeed. |

View Quote I tried to reach them a bunch of times both Saturday and Sunday and just couldn't get through. Groton is just under 80 miles from my QTH as the crow flies, so I am not sure if it was just the wrong distance for HF or what. I toured the base when I was a kid, and the sub we were allowed to tour was a diesel powered one from Denmark or Sweden, I forget. |

USS North Carolina's original CW still works and they allegedly fire it up from time to time.
One of the clubs members was telling me a story about they were using it one time and someone started to fuss them out about their drift until they sorted out who it was. Also, where's @piccolo ? Did he work a fire mission again? |

I ran the USS Nautilus station from about 10 to 1030 on Sunday morning.
