It would be cool but I don't think I would pay 20K for it.

Do want!!!   At least if would be nifty to try out, bet the waves would rock you to sleep.  And yea, price needs to come down some.  Would be a sweet DIY project though.

This would lend credibility to the "lost all my guns in a boating accident" story.  One good wave...

That thing looks like a death trap to me.

Maybe if you camp by shallow ponds

Needs about a 5 inch lift...

You need to displace more water than the boat weighs...

Looks cool but I don't like the idea of not having a roof on your shelter when you remove the boat. Also, when you are done with the boat and need a roof you are dumping water on your sleeping quarters.

It's called "Sealander", but isn't seaworthy...

Who says the Germans don't have a sense of humor?

Maybe you could tow it with this:

no disrespect to the OP but that is the stupidest idea I've seen in some time.

You end up with a massive surface area on all sides, which act as giant sails.  And then you mount a miniscule amount of power on the thing.  End result:  In anything over a 5 mph breeze than thing will be entirely uncontrollable, unable to move in desired direction, avoid hazards and possibly even remain floating (once the damned thing tips over).

Neat concept, bad application. That ting will tip in a small breeze. It is also extremely overpriced. I can buy a fully loaded off road version from little guy trailers for 7 grand with 33 inch tires, dvd, heat and air conditioning.

this.  the thought of an amphibious camper/rv fascinates me.  it's not something I could ever afford, I just enjoy the concept.
