This may not be the right forum for this but I thought someone here may have an answer.
A friend told of a true story he read years ago, but he can't recall the title.
It takes place in 19th century Alaska. The gist is an expedition in Alaska by an Irish (?) Lord and his team. He is inept in his decisions which nearly causes disaster many times. He also treats his team members like second class citizens.

Covers Lord Evelyn Luton and his party of four or five. IIRC Luton is trying to reach Dawson via a Canadian route. Takes place in the late 1800's.
