Could be a neighboring slip spewing stray current into the water which accelerates

anode consumption. Once the anodes are gone the drive is next on the menu.

There was a sailboat at another lake locally that had it's small outboard's lower unit reduced to

what looked like a skeleton. Gears, shafts and bearings all exposed with a tiny bit

of aluminum holding it all together.
