i remember scoring 149/150 on the promotion board.  i was on kp the next day.  1SG was laughin his ass off.

Most dangerous rank in the military.  Congrats!  Have fun, but stay below the radar.  It's easy to get in trouble as an E-4.

Well, it can be both in the Army...I hear SPC is way better than CPL cause as a CPL somebody hates you.

The Marines often refers to other Marines as boots (meaning right from boot camp), however you hear it said in some cases if the other Marine has 1 day or 20 years less in.

In the army it can be a NCO or Lower enlister. If you are a Specialist it is the good old sham shield where you get the most power but the least responcibility.
