Since CVSI worked for "The Unit"  I'm all for it

We have a CVSA and I can verify that it works.  I'm not an operator but we have two operators and we have had excellent results with it.

Personally I don't see a reason to spend the money for the polygraph when the CVSA works so well.

Neither one is admissible in court anyway.  We just use it to narrow down and eliminate suspects as well as to help in getting confessions.

For anyone worried about it, we video tape all uses of it and have never had an issue with coerced confessions.

Polygraphers don't like it because it will take their jobs away!!

They are both just a tool and not an excuse for shoddy police work.  Unfortunately, many agencies come to rely too much on lie detection technology.

Polygraphers don't like it because they have long held themselves as something special and highly trained.  I looked at some of their data on the above listed sites and some of it is misleading at best.

For general police work, the CVSA is FAR better than the polygraph.  It's easier and faster.  I've taken both.

Polygraphers like to be secretive about their trade.  CVSA operators are very open about how things work.

If it was my choice to buy one....CVSA or polygraph....I'd take the CVSA in a heartbeat.
