Start in two weeks. I can't wait. I've worked in the jail for almost 18months full time and 6months as a reserve. I met with the Sheriff yesterday and he offered me a patrol position. Now off to the academy and FTEP!

Congrats. You are taking the same path I took to become a law enforcement officer. I think you will find your time as a corrections officer will be very beneficial to you in dealing with the subjects on the street. It definitely helped me in dealing with the same type subjects as I was used to working with on a daily basis as a corrections officer. Good luck in your career move.

I went from being a Corrections Officer to being a Police Officer.It's a good transition.Being a CO,
you learn how to really deal with bad guys. |
