Anyone have any good christmas radio pranks to play on the dispatchers or newbies when you are bored?

I’m working 7 pm to 7 am on the 24th – 25th. I get off work and get to say up ALL day doing the family run. I missed Halloween, Thanksgiving and now Christmas Eve (this is the big night in my family). I did get one of the guys who owe me a day to work New Years Eve for me so I get one holiday this season.

The best prank we ever pulled: We were watching COPS on TV one night during dinner as a shift. We started feeling left out that out radios did not make that “Bulloop” sound when we transmit (you know the identifier tone). So we just started going “bulloop” at the end of each transmition. It sounded like this:

Me - “Control 4321 10-8 .. bulloop.”
Dispatch – “10-4?”
Sgt. – “4321, you got the north tonight .. bulloop.”
Me – “10-4 .. bulloop.”
Other Deputy – “S8, 4333 .. bulloop.”
Sgt. – “S8 .. bulloop.”
Other Deputy – “I need to go up north to do some follow up. I’ll talk north if that’s okay? Bulloop.”

And so on. It drove dispatch and out other division nuts. They thought we got new radios and they didn’t. It went on for a few weeks till upper admin got word and told us to stop. Lots of fun.

I usually have it off, but this year I'm working Christmas day shift, 0700 to 1700 so a fellow officer can have Christmas off with his wife.

No big deal, we celebrate Christmas Eve.

My partner and I are splitting the shift with another guy and his partner.  They both have little ones so they wanted the morning.  I'll work from 0800 to Noon and roll into the in-laws just in time for dinner.

Working the Christmas Eve 0700-0700 shift now....hopefully will get off on time and get home before the kids burst into the den to see Santa's presents. Let's see, I started the day-trick on the ambulance and responded to at least two elderly ladies that were obviously lonely and wanted attention, followed through by the usual falls, CP's/SOB's. Most of the guy's here had the families at the station today for a 1600hr dinner. Good times! Of course we had to have the obligatory house-clearing call just as we sat down to eat!
At about the same time, dispatch put out a "Car Explosion" call on the other side of the city. Turns out that a guy was sitting in his car at "Kappatal-Kuts" and the empty acetylene cylinder that he had re-filled w/ ether went WOO-FA! We ended up going to it latr after all was said and done. Man, it looked like something that you'd see in Iraq! It decimated the car and the two on either side. ATF and FBI have the scene taped off for 500yds every direction for the debris field!
Now i'm on the Heavy Rescue truck and have gone on two stove fires, a CC gas leak in the area and two commercial fire alarms. Oh well, that's my corner of the world. Merry Christmas all, stay sharp!

Was not a good Christmas day here. Had a family on their way to Grandparents house hit an icey spot and lose control of vehicle. Went into the ditch and rolled twice. Three of the four needed extricated. X-rays showed the mother's neck was broken. She has been transfered to a larger hospital, but doesn't look good for her. The daughter and autistic boy were ok. The father wasn't hurt too bad either. I didn't know about the mother until I arrived at the hospital with all their personal belongings and presents that we could gather. I really feel sorry for them at this supposed happy time. They could definately use some prayers. This will be a Christmas to remember for everyone involved.

At work right now, 0800 to 0800 monday. Been a slow shift so far but crappy. We had a Code this morning 60 some odd female, she was dead. We worked her for about ten minutes then docs said stop. And our ladder had 6 year old boy Code this morning as well. He didn't make it either. Pretty sad really. Now we're just watching some good ol' football.

Well, I was gonna give all you boys shit about working today, but one of our guys got "the phone call" about Grandpa.  Poor guy - his dad "42'd" last year, then his aunt a week ago, and now his grandpa.

So I'm back at the deuce for the "tail twelve". At least it's OT...

Merry Xmas Bros
