Two NYPD Detectives Killed in Line of Duty Friday Night
(New York-WABC/AP, September 10, 2004) — Two NYPD detectives died Friday night, fatally attacked as they responded to a domestic violence call.
It happened in Brooklyn.
The officers were first listed in critical condition at Kings County Hospital. Eyewitness News learned just before 11:00pm that both have died. The identities of the officers were not immediately released.
Police have two suspects in custody in the shooting, one of them reportedly was shot in the confrontation and has been hospitalized.
In March 2003, two undercover detectives from the police department's organized crime control bureau were shot and killed on Staten Island during a sting operation against gun dealers. Six people have been charged in connection with those deaths.
