Corey Shaw, 22, son of Du Quoin Fire Chief Bob Shaw, died from injuries sustained while combating the fire that engulfed the Pinckneyville Antique Mall and the Kunz Opera House.

Visitation for Corey Shaw will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Du Quoin Middle School, 845 East Jackson Street. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 16 North Walnut Street, Du Quoin

I'm in Marion so this has been local news since it happened.
Being in Public Safety most of my life, I have always maintained that risking your life or placing yourself in a life risking position to save empty property is just crazy. |
