Guys,this is a flintlock my Dad bought while stationed in England around 1961.I was told that it`s a brown bess.I would like more detailed info and possibly a value.Also,if any of you know of a site which caters to antique guns such as this please let me know.

heres the cartouche on the stock,the jamcam doesnt take very good close-ups however,the cartouche is a wasp or bee with "Dresse Laloux&Co.Liege" surrounding it.

It is not a Bessie.

I'd say its a light Belgian made trade fusil that was probably sold as a cheep hunting gun.  Have you measured the bore?  The trade fusils were usually 16 to 20 ga, while all Brown Besses were 12ga. Also is their provision for a bayonet?
