I havent checked in here at ARFCOM in a while and I havent looked into this since about  July, and I was just going to see how the fight was going. Is there any new news on the AWB sunset in Sept?

www.awbansunset.com

Right there on that page they(he?) post newspaper articles and stuff.  There is nothing there that directly suggest that a new ban will happen immediately.  In fact, it seems like a lot of people have waded though the Brady B.S. and now realize that the 94 ban was nearly if not totally worthless.

Are there even enough days for legislators to renew the AWB?

I have no idea how the Gov works. What would be needed to extend/renew this silly ban?

Likely more time than 4 days of legislature.

After that they would need to pass new legislature.  ......and that depends upon our willingness to let our representatives know how we feel.

Was watching news coverage on Frances earlier today and they were discussing FEMA funding with some congressman or senator. He said that FEMA's funds were tapped and that they would have to pass  more funding for FEMA to take care of the Frances victims. That should help occupy them for a little while. To bad it has to be circumstances like this to help us out though.May all the victims get the help they need.

Senator Feinstein:

'At this time, I would like to introduce an amendment to the hurricane disaster relief bill which is germane to the overriding issue of safety to the american public...'

Sounds like she's really grasping for straws, now. Even so, that statement (I can guess what she was "introducing") really disgusts me. Bitch.
