i was just wondering how many people out there actually purchased accessories for things you didn't own yet. for example, before i bought my first AR, i bought several thermold and USGI magazines. just to play with, and for "motivation"

Of course-I have crappy USA mags for a Glock 19, which I ain't got. I even have ammo for rifles I have never owned, and probably never will.

Well I have a box of 12 gauge shells, and no 12 gauge shotgun. I am going to try and hornswaggle the shotgun the shells went to...

I put away plenty of magazines for rifles that I didn't have yet. Sort of like seeds they sprouted rifles to match when funding came about.

I bought a bunch of M1 Carbine magazines prior to the the local Taliban here in Kalifornia and finally got the rifle to match.

Same with a Beretta 96 pistol where I had a few magazines put away.

Grew an M1A National Match from a bi-pod once.

I've got some spent ammo from a belt-fed .308 machine gun and some spent 20 mm CWIS shells that I'm hoping will sprout one day [:)]

I have mags for a Browning Hi-Power, but no gun. They are next to impossible to get in the PRK. I also have holsters for CCW, but once agian the PRK makes them go unused.

I have several boxes of .40, but no Glock to put them in.

Bought a bunch (magaholic quantities) of AK74 magazines and a stock set for aan SAR-2 a few months back. Problem was, it took me a couple of months to find the SAR-2.

All the time! Lately it's been M1-A mags for conversion someday for the AR-10 in .260 I hope to build. Lot's of pieces, parts, accessories, and assorted cool but idle stuff sitting in the safe or closets.

Guilty, I bought ammo and started reloading ammo for a gun I wanted REAL BAD! Ended up getting the gun shortly after...so my theory is one causes the other and it's a vicious cycle. Damn, it's a beautiful world we live in:)

In a way that makes since, I want to buy accessories before I buy the gun. Because if you do it the other way around it just doesn't feel good to get home with a gun you still have to accessorize.

Im guilty as well.
I've been buying 30 round high cap. mags for my soon to be glock. And I will be getting the carbine 16" barrel for it. Thats why I've got the clips. [%|]

And I bought 1000 rounds of 9mm ammo before I bought another pistol. [:O]

Guilty. I always buy a few boxes of ammo in a caliber that I have no firearm for so that I need to buy the firearm. Otherwise I would have to waste $40 of perfectly good ammo. [:)] Definitely glad to see that I am not the only one.

Guilty as charged. Alot of times it happens because I can't pass up on a good deal, regardless of what's it for. I've got hi-caps for pistols I don't own just because of the then pending Caliban ban on hi-cap mags.

GUILTY! 1000 rounds of .380 for a gun I haven't gotten yet. Full motocross gear, helmet, boots, gearbag, pads, chest protector, gas can, ramp for loading bike into truck, 2 stroke mix oil.... no dirt bike, not planning on buying till next winter.

Guilty. Glad to see I'm in good company. I've bought preban hicaps for guns I didn't own, some of which I still don't own, and bullets for calibers I didn't reload. I never did get .40S&W dies but I still have 1000 moly coated bullets. I still have ammo for guns I don't own anymore, and holsters in case I ever get a CCW in California. I bought some 30.06 and some clips before I ever bought a M1 Garand.

I have 2000rds of 308, 10-FAL mags, Scope mount for a FAL, About 900 rds of 223 and 5-ar mags (That I'm trying to sell.) And I Don't even own a FAL or AR-15

1 Ball, 1 Tracer, 1 Armor Piercing, and 1 Armor Piercing Incendiary.

Yep! One can of .30 carbine in clips in bandoliers from the CMP. I don't own a carbine. Then there is that set of Redding .243 dies...

At the opposite end of the spectrum is NOT haveing whatever for the guns you do have.

At one time I had 3 Garands, one '03 and an M-1917 and the only .30-06 I had was my target loads, about 100 rounds. [:O]
