Yay or Nay

Maybe Short Circuit????

I like to find old movies from when I was a kid to watch with my childrensssss.

Biggest hit so far has been Hot Shots and Part Deux. Another good one was Gremlins.

Howard the Duck is a true indication of George Lucas' talent.  So it has some value in the history of film.

The Empire Strikes Back was an abberation.

Howard the Duck was not a kids movie when I grew up. I think Short Circuit would be ok.

Another big +1, we watch that pretty much every time it is on the TV.

The Neverending Story was a good one too.

IIRC, Short Circuit does have some bad language in it, so be aware of that.

My kids are partial to The Story of O and Behind The Green Door. They are playful romps through a Lewis Carrol type wonderland they tell me.

Yea, I loved Howard the Duck too...but watching it now, not is it only a little "blue" for kids...the movie sucks too.

I'd say these are a good bet:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1 & 2
Goonies
Princess Bride
Christmas Story

If you know anything about the Victorians and Lewis Carroll, the girls in those movies are just much much much too old for the tastes of the time.

One of the reasons that Empire is so awesome is that it was directed by Irvin Kershner, rather than Lucas.

I saw that movie in 1986, and I still regret it to this day.
