Hey all, I posted this:

Quoted:
Hey all,

I have a good friend who is currently in Iraq. He is near Mosul.  I am sending him a nice "care package" but I don't really know what to send. What types of things are the hardest to get there now? I've sent them in the past, but at that time soap and koolaid and stuff like that was most needed. If i were to send $100 worth of stuff, what would  you all suggest it be? I don't want to just ask him because I want the package to be a nice surprise for thanksgiving. Thanks to anybody who responds!

So far, all I have is some powdered drink mixes, candy, and a prayer coin.

In the deployed section and only got two responses. I was wondering if anybody here knows what it is like over there currently, and what I might want to send to my friend. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

THANK YOU!

Stand by, I've got a buddy that's a Kiowa driver over there now.  Let me see what he says.

Little Debbie stuff or Local flavored chips were what my parents always sent me. My favorite stuff I couldn't get in NM let alone when I went to Iraq. Utz Carolina Style BBQ were great.

If there is any prepackaged local food you know he loves, send that.

Sarge speaks the truth. But don't forget copious amounts of hand cream along with the porn!

Here's my buddy's response in a nutshell: Jim Beam, Grizzly Wintergreen logs (hard to find and good trade item even if he doesn't chew), Christmas lights, mechanical pens & pencils, random magazines (Guns and Ammo, Maxim, etc.) Kool-Aid. Apparently 3" wood screws are in demand too.
