But.... I thought the NV scopes were only mounted on M2 carbines and had the clamp on flash hiders. Would the one in the OPs link be an early example then? Or a parts gun?

There is a guy at the Ohio Gun Collectors show this weekend with a complete setup (infared scope, no carbine) for $2500. Think it's the first one I've ever seen for sale before.
