Anyone know anything detailed about 'em, how to apply, paperwork tricks, etc? Some of the overseas non-con U.S. jobs looked interesting.

I haven't looked into it but if I had a notion to do so, the first place I would check is your nearest Office of Personnel Management (OPM). The last time I went there, it was located in the Federal Building. However, I believe all of the job postings are listed online these days. Try searching for "federal jobs."
http://www.opm.gov/ ETA: Tips / Tricks: Use the language written in the job announcement to list your skills. Copy / paste if you need to. Those key words will get your application / resume' noticed out of a stack. |

Go through USA jobs, pay attention to who is eligible as some are only open "internally" which is only for DA civilians. External jobs openings will be open to pretty much everyone. The Army jobs announcements will have you create a account with Army personnel and you create a RESUMIX resume, then you can apply to all the open announcements. Apply as much as possible, going overseas to the sandbox is a good way to get your foot in the door to Civil Service. Once your in Civil Service, you can then apply to jobs else where in any branch of DoD or Govt.
The Army right now is really looking for people with COMSEC training, CISSP or other certs. |
