I will be flying in a few months and am wondering if I can place 2 and guns in my rifle case along with the rifle or if they have to be in separate cases. Can I put ammo in the same case as the gun?

Taking a M1A, S&W 41 and a BHP.

guns ok in same case no ammo with them.keep it seperate case must lock

Ammo has to be in an "approved container for shipping"  ie. it's own box.

I think ammo has to be separate from the firearms but I haven't had any problems.

Firearms container must be hard cover and able to lock.

Don't travel through airports in unfriendly states

UNLOADED firearms in one case (locked)

ammo in approved shipping container  (i use a small pelican case that can be locked)

make sure you hand walk the stuff to TSA - so you are sure it goes through.
