Found a Sig Sauer SAS carry P220 today for $$840.00 brand new. What does AFRCOM say? Deal or no deal? The pistol is identical to the one in the link below.

I've had a 220, 226, 229 and 232 at various times. Never had a malfunction from any except when I used an aftermarket magazine. Or as I called it 'malf drill mag'.

I know Sigs are pricey but isn't that a little high?

They're quality guns though.

I'm lusting after a Sig P220 right now. However I'm looking for a lightly used DA/SA for around $5-600. I can't put $800+ in a handgun unless we're talking 1911s.

I finished my CCW about a month ago and I too have been looking at the P220's. So far, it's a toss up between it and the Kahr PM9.

I've had a 225 for 6-7 years and have never regretted buying it.

Nothing like a Sig trigger and reliability.

That price is a little high, look around some more and you can find them cheaper than that.

I have a Sig 220 Carry,
I really do like the Sig220 series, but I picked mine up brand new for 620

Buy it and never look back. Sig makes great stuff, I have a P226 that I have put 2000+ rounds through and it has never jammed/malfunctioned once.

Except my Mosquito!

That's really a shame, my Mosquito is a great .22 with very good reliability - OTOH I don't think Sig is the actual Mfg of the Mosquito. Those Mosquitos are quirky, either perfect or horrible. I tested mine before buying with various ammo.

Get it fixed!

Nice gun but the price seems a bit high...Then again, the last year has been Bizarro world for all gun prices. Seeing that price makes me glad I bought my P245 ten years ago for $599.99 used.

I have one of the older German made ones and have used it for a winter ccw for over 12 years.
The original night sights still work but not like they once did, you can pick up one of these used for about $450+ .
They will eat anything including lead swc's. and even though you can get cheaper magazines to function well in them for trips to the range theres just no beating the factory ones with the dovetails on the back.
I've never had any problems with mine but have ran across guys who have and you can just about bet they've stripped the frame down for what ever reason and not reassembled it correctly. Stripping the slide, pin punching out the trigger block to clean is no biggie but why practice gunsmithing on your carry piece? Good design, great caliber, last thing I'll ever sell off.

Sigs have been made in the US for a number of years.

Good to know, I ASSumed that since both mine have "Made in Germany" on them that they all were.

Price is a bit high and personally I'd get a SA/DA. They are sweet weapons though.

Check CDNN Investments, they usually have better deals on Sigs.

You have to download their catalog but its worth the wait

From the factory. Sounds like a nice deal to me. You may be able to get better deals on a used one, imo. But definitely fine guns from what I hear.

I really like SIGs but unfortunatly for me, I'm probably the only person on earth who can't shoot one better than what I consider average on the low side

Sigs are great, just don't waste your money on the "special" versions like Blackwater, Navy and SAS.

I've got three SIGS and really love them, but I don't think I could shell out that much for a new one.

I took my time and bought all of mine very slightly used at funshows.

No finer combat handgun has yet been invented than a Sig Sauer.

In fact, they're so good, there's really no point in buying one brand new, save some money and get a used one, the quality is not diminished with use.

Not for a SAS model. You can get a regular 220 lots cheaper.
