I can hit four or five online retailers and find .223 and .308 ammo now. 9mm and 45acp are still pretty hard to find but I did walk into a Wally World and they had two 100rnd value packs of 9mm and 400 rounds of Remington 230gr .45 on the shelf. I cleaned out the 9mm and got 100 rounds of the .45. Seems like to me that it is slowing down a little. What are you guys seeing?

I think the first few batches of ammo are starting to leak out into the market, but I think the rush is far from over because there are still people out there who want ammo.

Went into Scheel's yesterday, They have a 2 box limit on ammo. Must have just started.
|
|
The last four or five times I've gone to Academy, an assortment of .223 and .308 has been available, and there's been a mixed bag of pistol calibers as well.

As with everything the rules of economics applies.
Emotional demand without a concrete reason always subsides. |

People are starting to run out of money. I think that has a lot to do with it. A lot of people have been spending money they dont have on guns and ammo lately. They are going to have to pay their credit cards off or sell the stuff they just bought. Either way it will slow the market down a little I hope |

For the first time, in a while... I was able to see 3 cases of .308 next to each other (1060 rounds) EDT/CASE
However it was $699.99 |

Maybe. I found 400 small pistol primers at a local shop yesterday. I was shocked as hell to see them.

I have two Walmarts close to me and they both have ammo, also my ammo pimp has called me and has plenty

Is it me or does it seem like the ammo surge is slowing down?
It's just you. |
|
Not slowing down around here. The only reason you can find it online from time to time is because they have raised the prices 30-100% over the last year.
Fuel is way down, metals are way down, they are making a killing because people are stupid enough to pay it. |

Visited Southern CA Guns the other day. They had a good stack of XM193, each box containing 400 rounds (two 200 round value packs) for a bit over $200.

The election of a radical leftist president and a left wing Democrat majority in the House and Senate is a concrete reason, at least, it is as concrete as it gets until there is an actual ban in effect. |

i think it's hit or miss now. backorders get filled and they have a little left over. It hangs around for a few days and then it's gone. I also agree that people are running out of money and some are waiting on thier income tax checks.

Yesterday the cabelas near me had a good number of 7.62x39 in stock in loos boxes and had three half cases available. First 7.62x39 I've seen in stock in a while. |

A slow-down is not very evident locally (at least not a WalMart), and it sure has not had any impact on primers yet that I can tell. I hope your observations are a sign of things to come.

I've been to 4 Walmarts in the past two days and nothing at any of them..

I'm seeing PRVI M855 at a 20% increase on a couple of sites. Considering that I haven't seen any online for about two months I'd call that decent. Yes, I cleaned out the 9mm at the Wally. However, I plan on shooting it, not selling it. I could have been a total jerk and bought up all the 45 and 223 they had too....... but I didn't. My local FFL found several cases of 9mm, 45, and 380 (it's like Gold!) and has it coming in this week. He said he is starting to see more ammo available at the wholesalers. No, I'm not going to clean out my FFL. Only thing I'll probably pick up is a couple of boxes of 9mm (got a new CMMG 9mm AR coming) and another 100 rounds for the .380. Maybe I'm smoking crack, but I'm hoping that in a month or two we'll see that things are slowing down.

Gander had a whole PALLET of loose packed cases of federal .223 a few weeks ago, $500 per k. I really wanted some but not for 50 cents.
Walmart has been bare for the last several weeks. Last time they had any .22 bricks I bought all 3. |

There hasn't been any media circuses around mass shootings the last week or two. Give it a few more days. Once the swine flu blows over I'm sure some dem will make another stupid statement about a ban. |

Yup, spotted some Fed 22LR at 2 Wally's. Counter guy says things are slowing down. Knuckleheads aint buying cases.
|
|
Things are slowing down, all guns stores in my area are stocked with ammo of every brand in every caliber.... prices are just too high right now and people have run out of money
|
|
Went to Keislers in Indiana last week, they had probably 100,000 round of Fed XM193 in 500 rd cases $256.00 a case, 4 unopened wood cases of LCM118LR $39.95 a box of 20. Winchester 150grn and Federal 147 grn 308 $18.95 a box plenty of it. Remmington 223 200 rd cases $94.00 a case.
Inman 5.56 cans in strippers and Bando's 920 a can I think $900.00.Plenty of 45,38,380,7.62x39,40. The floor was just covered with ammo. No short supply here, just short supply of money for these prices. |
|
when I can go to walmart in my area, Southern VA, and they have ammo, ill think it is slowing down.Walmart has got the greatest supply chain in the world. If they are slow to get a product or enough to satisfy demand, it gets my attention
