Have you seen the ad yet? It should piss you off as a sportsman and RESPONSIBLE firearms owner. Let's run up the signatures on this one. I'm tacking this on top for a few.

#1249... My Cherokee wanted a Wrangler to hang out with in the garage at night.
He'll have to settle for a Ford Escape. |

Here's what I added in my comments: The petition also failed to mention, possibly for brevity's sake, that without the sportsmen and women, deer and other large herbivores would destroy the forests of America. Without the natural predators, American hunters are the force that keeps the large herbivore populations under control. My own state of Indiana has controlled hunts within State Parks as part of a deer population management effort. I find your advertisement to cater to the yuppy, sniveling crowd of America who are more concerned about offending someone than doing the right thing! |

I'm not so ashamed to drive my wrangler after seeing this petition. |

We seem to have their attention:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- here is the reply from daimlerchrysler: Thank you for your comments regarding our 30-second Jeep Grand Cherokee television commercial. We value your opinion and appreciate your willingness to share it with us. As you know, outdoor activities and communing with the environment are both basic to the DNA of the Jeep brand. That is why for many years Jeep has sponsored and supported a wide range of outdoor events and activities. With this in mind, we created the spot to communicate the key attributes of Jeep - off-road capability, ruggedness, safety and security. Because of our innate involvement with nature and outdoor activities, we felt we could use the hunting analogy in a tongue-in-cheek way to highlight the "go anywhere, do anything" capability of Jeep vehicles. Unfortunately, we did not anticipate this story line would evoke such negative emotion among some viewers. That was never intended. We apologize if we inadvertently offended any individual or group. Obviously we underestimated the sensitivity of this issue. Jeep, as the embodiment of the great outdoors, does not want to damage our relationship with any groups or individuals that love, appreciate and enjoy outdoor activities. Nor do we want to damage our relationship with our loyal customers or prospects who reside on either side of this issue. Therefore, because this is so emotionally charged, we will no longer continue this campaign. Again, thank you for sharing your views with us. We hope this clarifies our position. Respectfully, The Jeep Brand A Division of DaimlerChrysler Corporation |

#26xx something.
Is there a copy of the ad posted online anywhere? I want to forward it to people. |
|
Now how about this?
A jeep bogging out a muddy-ass road... Climbing up a steep rocky hill... Traversing a fast moving stream... And the owner flopping down a freshly killed, 16 point buck and gutting it. Now thats a commercial I can live with. |

Thanks for the help with the link WAVERUNNER and thanks to all who stepped up to the line and made a big company take notice!
"Whupped 'em again, didn't we Josey"? "Whupped 'em again, boy". |

#4631 here. Also the proud owner of a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I Love my Jeep, but they had better think about the message they are sending to sportsmen across the country.
|
|
#4666. Less hunting = more vehicle-wildlife collisions = more Jeep drivers injured or killed by 60 MPH ungulates... probably not the most thoroughly thought out campaign in the ad cupboard...
|
|
#5486. I have owned a CJ5 since I bought it new in 1979, if Jeep does not pull their ad I am serious about selling it ASAP. Semper Fi, jarhead gunner.

DONE!
Morons! Do they have any idea how many FUC*ING 10-45's (accident without injury) we have to work with vehicle vs. deer? How LOW FAT deer meat is? How much fun it is to go hunting? How we (the hunters, pro-gunners) are helping to keep the deer from over populating the area? Someone send these geniuses a link to one of the articles about all those deer pissing off all the home owners in an anti-hunting/anti-gun area and then had to HIRE some one to come out and fix their problem. (&*^*(&^&*&^**&^(*U*&$$@##$^%#$@#$WE^%^^*!!!!!!!!!!! [soapbox] Art in KY- preaching to the choir. |

I don't personally hunt, but many of my friends do, and I find the tone of the ad highly offensive. Actually, I do hunt; but only the Two-Legged Spota, it's always in season. [:D] |

Lets squeeze there b**ls tighter! |

Done. #6557. That new $25,000 Land Rover looks way cooler than any Jeep.
