Yeah, that's terrible, now they have to contact ALL their cardholders and have them get new cards to use in the new card readers.

then again, maybe there might be something wrong with the individual card or individual reader.

No, it is not any sort of fraudulent device or skimmer.

Chase recently "upgraded" their Diebold ATMs from their old envelope depositories to new "deposit friendly" configurations which now include a cash acceptor and check acceptor. Part of the upgrade was changing from motorized card readers to dip card readers. No one knows why they decided to do this as it has caused a lot of confusion and problems with customers. It would have been a good idea for them to place some sort of signage or use a screen graphic to let the customers know about the change.

Waldo, if you don't mind my asking, what part of OH are you in?

I wonder how many more banks the government will hand to chase? Anyway, what is the point in upgrading the ATM's? Do they really need people's money that bad? I thought they were getting a nice bailout? Oh well.

Well, the upside to the new equipment is that it allows customers' cash and check deposits to post immediately to their accounts. No more waiting for checks to clear.
