Posole ( however one spells it ) is good stuff.  I make my chilli with beans but I might get both and add hominy.

You people put something you call chili on top of spaghetti! As such, your opinions on the subject are moot.

BTW people if you want corn in your chili you put masa (that's corn flour for you yankees) in it!

Anyone who would put beans, corn, hominy (???), pasta, and especially RICE (!!!) in chili should be strung up and hung by the neck until dead.

Or at least shot 87 times.

Evil, I tell you... EVIL!

Sounds interesting. Hominy is certainly an authentic southwestern foodstuff. I'll give it a try unlike some of the othe WET BLANKETS here.

Fail. Once you add beans it's suitable for government cheese though.

Google some recipies for Posole. Unlike Menudo using tripe this can use pork loin/ground pork and white hominy in a chile soup. good stuffl

I have been using hominy as a replacement for the little dumplings and noodles in soups and chowders since we went gluten free.  Works out alright.

So it's suitable for a better grade of cheese before you put in the beans?  I'm not following your logic here.

Once you open the gate for one low grade filler then you open it for all.

san antonio, the birth place of the dish known as CHILI is a cubed meat dish made with peppers, tomatoes, onions and more peppers, maybe thickened with maise or mesa as needed,

beef, stewed with peppers, onions, tomatoes, beans and or corn or any other veggies is STEW,,,it may be stew with a chili flavor, but it is STEW

Try posole if you can find it.  My son is living in South Carolina now and so far he hasn't found what could be rated as a good Mexican restaurant.

then again he thinks shrimp and grits is good.  blecchh.  Shrimps fixed just about any way are good.  Grits are good just about anyway they come.  But shrimp and grits are a disaster.

Cornbread and chili is good.

Frito pie (fried corn chips and chili) is good.

Beef enchiladas (chili con carne and cheese rolled inside a corn tortilla) is good.

So - What's the problem with putting a corn product in your chili?
