If you sight a source, why leave it cold?

Which type of cited source?

Some are just lazy, some don't want traceable traffic.

I was thinking it might be for tracking purposes.

I see it most with links to DU and the like.

Please remember: A link is a link no matter if it's hot or cold.

One of our members posted a link to a porn website. After I locked his account, he argued that since it wasn't a hot link, he didn't violate the conduct code.

The link I made hot to the Obomunism shirts earned us a $2 discount since they received so much traffic from us.

Whenever I see a cold link I want to see what it is about, I copy it, go to cnn.com, and paste it before going there.

If you do the cut and paste while still here, I don't think it accomplishes anything.

If you copy paste the link while still on arfcom then arfcom is in the history if they bothered to check but is not listed as the referer.
