Yeeeeah, there's a black man in this movie, right? Yeeeah, I'm going to have to avoid seeing this movie because it's against God. I've interpreted the Bible to say that black men shouldn't be making movies in a predominately white country. So please, don't go see this movie and support Satan. Oh, and even though I haven't seen this movie I'm pretty sure it's targeted towards kids and focuses on converting them to a Pagan religion. Let's just avoid trouble and boycott this movie, ummm key? I don't know. I thought Shrek would not be any good, but I was wrong. Then again Black Knight (that will hit video in a matter of weeks) has that Martin guy in it. I didn't think he was funny in his own sitcom (whatever that was called).
What are they trying to do, a midevil version of Blazing Saddles? |

I refused to see the last 'knight' flick out there because of the modern mucical score, doesn't fit IMO.
This kind of storyline has been done before with some fantastic results (Army of Darkness [:D]), but I can't stand Martin... Perhaps if it was Chris Rock or Chris Tucker, _then_ it might be decent. |

I'm not a bigoted man, but how many movies is hollywood going to make with black comedians who's only routine is making white people look un-hip? God, I grow tired of some loud mouthed comedian making fun of white people. White people can't dance, have no rythem, can't jump, are too stuffy, walk funny, dress funny, so on and so on. The worst part is we love it, right?
I'm not saying I can't laugh at myself or have any problem with black comedians but there must be 20+ movies in the last few years that follow the same premise. |

Quoted: Isn't the movie a spoof of "A Connecticut Yankee in King Aurthur's Court"? yeah, my point exactly. bastardization of fine literature? twisting 'history' to make it 'funny' and 'hip'? taking a raunchy (not even funny) comedian and inserting him into a time period, that, surprise, has black people as royalty in europe? sure, i get that that is writer's freedom to juxtapose events, societies, etc to make a comedy, but why? and i would like to second counterstrike's post, all of it, and say that i am not bigoted, but whats up with white people not being cool now? the budweiser ads annoyed me, a lot of merchandising annoys me, etc... and for the record, i hate everyone until i meet them and get to know them, not just based on skin color, religion, etc. everyone sucks. think happy thoughts! |
