One handgun a month in VA.  That was thanks to our first (and hopefully last) black governor.

dumb non-gun law that went into effect today:
LAW: hands-free cell phones ONLY in motor vehicles.

DUMB: now instead of holding the phone in front of your face to dial(in the same line of sight as the road), we now have to stare straight DOWN AT THE FLOOR to dial, taking our eyes off the road entirely, until all 11 numbers are dialed. not to mention taking our hands off the steering wheel while fumbling for the hands-free wire harness.

Close. The state legislature just repealled the cohabitation law which prohibited unmarried couples from living together. Maricopa County still has a statute prohibiting more than six women from living together and defines it as a brothel.

I wouldn't believe everything on this site.  For Michigan, it says, "Anyone over 12 can have a license for a handgun".  That's total BS...first, there IS no "license" for a handgun, and second, the age is 21.

They want you to turn on your headlights so you can be SEEN by other drivers in bad weather. If you've ever driven in a heavy downpour or snowfall with low visibility and need to change lanes but can't because you can't see the jackass behind you (with no headlights on),you could see where this would cause accidents among "non-drivers".Unfortunately alot of states had to make this a law because of a lack of common sense.

So why not just SAY it?  Write the law like Michigan did, you must have your lights on in inclemant weather

In Michigan a pistol purchase permit will be issued, and a "safety inspection" card (license) will then be issued, to anyone over 18 who is not crazy, criminal, et al.
Federal law prevents an FFL sale to someone under 21. Many people purchase for their kids from the dealer and give as a gift at 18. (Family purchases for gifts are not the dreaded 'straw man' purchases)

No carry in ANY establishment in VA licensed to serve alcohol on premises. So I can't carry legally into the dining area of Applebees or Chili's to have dinner (sans alcohol). Total BS.

Now my old state, MA, is too bad to even start a list. BUT...they at least let you carry virtually anywhere if you find a local cheif that will issue an LTC for "All Lawful Purposes" (which I did). You can carry in bars, just can't carry under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and that was only enacted in 1998. I think that's the right approach.

You should read some of my other posts on the matter of race and ethnicity.  I don't think that race matters worth a damn, most of the time.  I do believe that blacks make poor politicians however.  If you look at areas that are controlled by blacks, you'll notice A. They are very socialistic; B. They have increasing amounts of gun laws; C. They have very high crime rates; and D. The people have a "blame it on whitey, because it ain't our fault" attitude.

Color matters not.  Allan Keyes would have made a much better presidential candidate than Bush.  Colin Powell is the best Sec. of State that we've had since Kissinger.  What matters is the attitude that the man/woman has.  Many blacks have a "you owe me" attitude that governs how they vote and how their politicians run things.  DC and Detroit are perfect examples of this.

There is also all of the strife in Africa, which can't possibly be blamed on European imperialism anymore.  South Africa makes a crystal clear example.  Whites run a country that has massive black African immigration, is the wealthiest nation in Africa, and has the one of the lowest crime rates on the continent.  Blacks take over and the GNP plummets, immigration practically ceases, gun laws are strengthened while crime continually skyrockets.  Not a very pretty picture.  Unless blacks develop the "white" attitude towards government, they are doomed to failure.  Just my personal opinion.

Oklahoma.

Oral sex is illegal.

You have to have a license to carry a gun, concealed only.

any alcohol available at a regular store has to be 3.2% beer or less.
Anything above must be purchased from a liquor store which cant be open past 9:00 or open at all on sundays (Because that's Jesus's time) also anything above 3.2% is illegal to sell chilled.

3.2 beer is sold in groceries/convenience stores/bars as a non-intoxicating beverage. Yet, you can still be charged with DUI/DWI (ask my brother).

-It's illegal to take a lion to the movies.

Ditto what JIMBEAM said.  Also, liquor stores here close at 7 PM, and they can not open on Sunday.  Bars must close by 2 AM, except on Saturday night when they must close by midnight. (note, there are a few exceptions)

BTW, my niece's fiance is a manager at a restaurant in Columbia, SC.  He was busted for opening minibottles while not in the presence of the purchaser, then not delivering the minibottle to the table.  That's right, in SC when you order a mixed drink here and the server doesn't either open the bottles in front of you or bring you the minibottles, according to section 61-6-2210 of our "wonderful" state law, they are guilty of a crime.  The penalty is "upon conviction, be punished by a fine or imprisonment in the discretion of the court of general sessions."  In other words, it's anything the judge wants it to be!  Also, the restaurant might lose their license to sell, so he was fired as a manager.  Worse, because he was legally carrying in his place of work while breaking one of SC's (many) alcohol-related laws, according to section 61-6-4180 there is a minimum 1 year jail term.  My poor niece had to delay her wedding until this mess is straightened out.  All because a couple of off-duty cops at the table were upset because one of their hamburgers didn't have cheese on it like it should have.  Petty jerks.z

A really old law was recently used against a PETA-freak here in VA.  She apparently organized some kind of protest that the local officials didn't like so they nabbed her on "lewd and lacivious cohabitation" because she lived with her boyfriend.  I got a big kick out of that.

-Oral and anal sex is illegal

-sex with animals is illegal (ewwwwww)

-premarital sex is illegal

-when a woman drives her husband must walk so many feet (forget the exact distance) waving a yellow flag to warn others that woman is driving

Here's a good local one from San Diego, OCR:

"It is illegal to shoot jackrabbits from the back of a streetcar."

Considering the fact that it's illegal to discharge a firearm inside the city at all (except at a shooting range or in self-defense), that's an amazing law.  It must have been a problem once upon a time, long, long ago.

Our present-day streetcars (The San Diego Trolley) only have windows on the sides, anyway.  Oh well.  It must have been a lot more fun here back in the 'teens or the Roaring Twenties.

Double back 20 miles and use another road. Great for bringing fireworks into Georgia. Though, I don't think they watch. But, there are great fireworks stores just over the SC, TN and AL state lines. NC only allows crappy fireworks, so I got those in TN and SC. Many times I'd just bring them from whereever I was that they were legal. Seriously, I like buying fireworks in ALabama becuase they are so much cheaper there. Florida seriously regulates anything other than fountains. You have to sign a statement to cover the ass of the seller to get firecrackers, bottle rockets, etc. I would have paid 10 times as much at Neptune in Davie, FL as I pay now in Robertsdale, AL. Orlando was even more expensive.

Funny thing is, there is a fireworks store (in a trailer) I swear to god, 10 inches from the state line on HWY-29.
