I was reading in my AR15 Sourcebook about early mil issue Armalite's having either a 1'n'14 or 1'n'15 Twist- They said this caused the bullet to upset very well in tissue, causing horrifig wounds, but, it wasn't stable in cold weather.

Anyone know where I can score one of these barrels for my AR?

I believe Kreiger can make one for you.

Hey,
maybe you could even
use cast bullets
and piss off the silhouette shooters.

if you're going to use the barrel because you believe what you just read to be true, don't do it.

that was OLD thinking before the Army collected data and did its homework on missile caused wounds.

all of that stuff went out of the window when it was finally figured out that ALL rifle bullets tumble in flesh and that M193 produces ghastly 6" diameter wounds b/c it fragments violently, due to the bullet's design combined with 2700fps at penetration.

if you want a 1in14 barrel still, the oldest of Colt's SP1 rifles will have them.  the switch to 1in12 was very fast so most SP1's have these.
