Got this email yesterday from our EO Advisor. The EO Advisor typed the disclosure and got the list from the EO School.
While the majority of these terms are obviously not offensive, many of them I have never even heard of. Not only that, but as you can see, a lot of them are simply...words, legal terms, names, that can't really be substituted without a long, drawn out description. Here is the message:
Sorry, it was in two columns and it's combining the two. I have to fix it.
Sweet baby Jesus. WTF? This limp wristed queer must have had his lackey working like a slave to get this list together. ;-)
Alright, fixed it.
No "Camel Jockey" or "Sand Flea?"
I guess it is all about priorities. |
No mud shark? Somebody's not gonna get their EO challenge coin...
[Tyrone Biggums] Children, let me tell you about my first time on drugs...it was amazing! Donald and Mickey came over, and we sang songs and ate cookies for hours! [/Tyrone Biggums]
ETA: It's been my experience that the normal full-time EO people are completely incapable of doing any other job in the military, and most are incapable of doing their own EO job. |

I'm liking Tar Baby new one to me |

What about "gypped?"
gyp also gip (jp) Slang tr.v. gypped also gipped, gyp·ping also gip·ping, gyps also gips To deprive (another) of something by fraud; cheat or swindle. n. 1. A fraud or swindle. 2. One who defrauds; a swindler. [Probably short for Gypsy.] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

As interracial dating/marriage has expanded and become acceptable, that term has been used less and less. I heard it more in the '70s and EARLY '80s. edited for speeling. Or is that racist? |
Pickanenny? WTF?
I don't see Porch Monkey listed, that must still be ok. Canuck? You can't say Canuck? |
That list illustrates profound ignorance.
Most of the uses of "black" and "white" don't have the slightest inference to race. |
According to that guidance they can't mention the United Negro College Fund or the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
I'm offended. |
Well, at least you can still use "pole smoker", "peter puffer", and "knob goblin". Carry on.
I would have to say that EOR is out of line. Unsolicited emails like that, even from the EOR, are not appropriate. They of all people should know that someone could take offense to the list and complain about it. But in all honesty, who gives a shit. I am and American with freedom of speech. If you take offense then you can suck my ba*** bitc***,%&&%$,(*^&$&,*#!%&,(&^&*^&%%,*&%^$%,(^&^$%^
And thats all I got to say about that. |

Probably refers to a slick sleeve recruit; wouldn't want to hurt their feelings, either. |
Yep, a couple of us at work mentioned how she just made the NAACP a bad word apparently. Next time I see her in person, I may play it off as if it was a joke. She's got two enlisted grades on me though. |
The other ones I either haven't heard of or don't consider offensive... Some of these words have their RARE proper context but most of them don't have a place in the work place. The is a gray area. |
I really don't think even the majority are offensive. A lot of us at work don't know what a whole lot of them are even supposed to mean in a negative context.
We had to go to open house for the youngest child tonight who is starting kindergarten (German word, BAN IT!). We were told, they no longer have "rules". They are now called "Expectations".....Gimme a friggen break.
This political correctness shit will be the end of us. |
Guinea pig???????????????????
Is that supposed to be offensive to lab rodents? That's the source, as in having someone try out something new to see if it works. They are also a meat source in Peru. I hope they don't think Italians would be offended by it. |
You know, when I first joined the Army, for some reason I thought maybe I was joining an organization that didn't put up with so much complete BS, such as this. I don't know what I was thinking, I must have hit my head that day or something.
Ugh, tell me about it.
Huge surprise there. |
It's ok. We took it back. |
Yep. You could probably guess another characteristic of the person who sent it, but I can't say it, might be called a racist. |
Hmm I hear All those words on a daily basis...guess we fail lol
sounds too close for comfort, I hope the Army is working on changing the name ASAP to avoid giving offense. www.pica.army.mil/PicatinnyPublic/index.asp
Sucks if your name is Mick Savage ... 4 year enlistment of responding to "Hey You!" |
OMG , I'm so offended now. You are troooouuuublllee. I like how she prefaced her list with " I didn't make this list...." Yeah apparently you did because the majority of these phrases I've never heard of, or have never heard used in an offensive context. Red Bone????....thats a breed of dog. Sounds Greek to me???....my understanding of this was just a colloquial way of comparison to Greek/Latin language, the old "dead language" as it has been called....meaning " I don't understand" . This PC bullshit is ridiculous. What do they want us to do...point & grunt??? It's sad to see Common Sense in such short supply. |
