Looks like some LT's owe the M88 crew some beer.

LTC, actually.

"The LT said the hole looked too deep, the LTC called him a wussy and to do it"

Bahh... That wasn't shit.  I've seen fuckers get those so stuck it takes 2 M88s to pull 'em out.

That LT wasn't trying hard enough.

I did a recovery in Korea that required three 88's. Guy drove off a steep incline into a perfectly wet rice paddy and the damn tank stuck like a boot in the mud. Our Alpha company 88 broke it's main winch cable off trying to recover it alone. We finally had 2 pulling from the side, and one from the back to recover it.

The division commander even flew in to watch us do it.

OK, one's a tank, but it's three cables...

Recovery is the name of the game when it comes to tanking.

I hate to see pics of tanks upside down though. People can get killed when shit like that happens.

I loved doing recovery.

I got to see some startling examples of human fuckery as well as what inattention can do to you when you are driving a 50+ ton vehicle.

What I loved from FTXs in German mud were the daisy chain recoveries-deuce & half gets stuck, 577 gets stuck attempting the recovery, and the one M88 showing up to unass the situation gets stuck requiring two more M88s to pull them out.

That water fuck up the tank? (motor, electronics, etc)... How long does it take to get a tank back in working order?
