I was working on a house this morning to repair some holes in the garage wall. I parked my truck in the front of thouse maybe 20ft from the garage. I unload a couple tools at a time and turn the alarm off and on as I get the stuff.

So im fixing this stuff and I go back and forth to the truck to ge tools and materials. I turned the alarm off while walking out the garage door when I turn around and back to the house to retrieve my log book.

As I head back out some hood in a doorag is halfway inside my truck with my stuff in his arms. There was another guy about a house away and he walked away real fast but the younger guy took off with my stuff and I take off after him. I was within arms reach of the guy, but he was just too fast. Damn.

I got bac into my truck to see if I could see where he went. Im looking for my cellphone, but apparently he snagged it along with a small case where I had credit cards and some other papers.

I go around a corner into a developement and spotted him just as he turned. Now, I wasn't hauling ass or putting anyone in danger, or dodging nuns and crippled children. I cut across a dirt field next to a developemnt. I drive into the developement and he's gone. Hundeds of house with block walls and fences. Hell, he's probably int he next state by now.

I filed a report.

Yeah. Im stupid. I screwed up by turning my alarm off and going back in the house.

You should've also been carrying FREEZE +P or FOX LABS 5.3 in addition to a CCW Gun...

You could've maced the guy (anywhere, not necessarily on the face).

That'd definitely give him a little skin burn, and maybe slow him down if he inhales it while running...

It also marks him with a hard-to-wash-off UV Ink so if you DO get the police to look for him he might even be marked for ID during booking/line-up...
