N.Y. Mayor Bloomberg Leaves GOP
Move Fuels Speculation About Independent Bid for the White House

By Michael D. Shear
Washington Post Staff Writer
Wednesday, June 20, 2007; Page A01

New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg abruptly left the Republican Party yesterday, declaring himself free of a "rigid adherence" to ideology and stoking speculation that he will use his multibillion-dollar fortune to mount an independent bid for the White House.

Is an independent run by Bloomberg good for us ??  Which voters will he attract ??

Probably those to the left.

He was NOT a stanch(sic) Republican. He will split the Democratic vote as an independant.

I don't think he will hurt Republicans.  I never understand people that think money has everything to do with a presidential election.  As someone mentioned in another thread, Fred Thompson hasn't spent anything yet, and depending on wich polls you look at, he's in the lead.

All the polls I see have him in second behind GHOULIANI.

Since day one, it's been surreal. It seems as though the media decided early on that the ghoul was the Republican front runner and have been touting it as so, and suddenly the polls are starting to reflect that.
