I love mine! You can get extra "barrels" for it from compass lake engineering, and other spare parts like magazine inserts from Sarco. Good little gadget, especially in time of ammo shortage.

Totally reliable… mine is good enough to allow me to come 2nd in a regional shooting comp.
 Bushmaster upper/lower, dedicated .22lr barrel, M261 bolt, YHM front end, CompM… w00t! |

So I can buy the kit and use it with a Bushmaster 22lr upper.....or do they usually come complete with the upper? Nice setup by the way.....11.5"? |

The chamber adaptor is machined off to work with teh .22 barrel like a Kuhl .22 |

So basically you can just drop the kit in place of the standard BCG and blast away? Sorry for all the questions,  just trying to get all my ducks in line.

Absolutely correct, drop it in, snap the magazine insert into a standard 5.56 mag, and you are ready to rock. It will work with any .223 or 5.56 chamber right out of the chute. |

Yes, pop out your bolt, drop the m261 in, put the .22 inserts in your standard AR mags… and away you go. When you've finished a handfull of .223 will clear any fouling out of the gas tube. |

Same here! Some day I am going to search long and hard enough to figure out what gun the original 10 rounders were made for, and get some higher cap ones for that rifle. Then it's dremel a couple spot welds and tack the higher cap mags into the "adapter" and it's gtg. There has to be enough demand that it would be feasible to mass produce them really. I don't know if a 20 rounder would fit in a 30 round AR mag, because of the angle, but a 15 might. I would be willing to chop the bottom off a mag or two to get something workable. |

there are some 30 round mags for them but your going to need to mortgage the house to buy them. i also heard a rumor OLY is about to make them as well. the oly kit is a direct copy and the few i have seen run fine.

I use all the my mags with bad lips or dents for the 5 mags I have for my m261.

Wow, never heard of one running bad that couldn't be resolved. I've got 4 that I swap in and out and can't tell one from the other in regards to performance/reliability. The only problems I've had were 2 broken rear spring/tabs, and both were caused by the rear screw backing out, which I now lock-tite on principle. Most any other issue I've heard of were resolved with some combination of: - reprofiling or replacing the firing pin - replacing the main spring - polishing the guide rail - polishing the chamber/replacing the 'barrel' insert - running it pretty 'wet' Like many 22lr conversions, they do seem to enjoy having the occasional OOB kaboom... and the couple I've had so far, after the smoke and cussing clears the air, haven't caused any actual damage yet. Mine are also force fed el cheapo Rem Golden bullets and do well on it. I usually run them in one of 2 dedicated uppers, both based on CLE barrels, which eliminate the m261's barrel adapter, but they seem to run just as happily (if slightly less accurately) in normal 5.56 uppers. |

Oh I know that, but if you look at them it is very obvious they just took a COTS magazine from somewhere, made a magazine adapter, and tack welded them together at the proper angle. |

They do like high powered .22's though. I get FTF on standard .22's but it runs like a clock on CCI minimags.
They also like to be well lubed… a big squirt of BreakFree does the business. |

I love my Ceiner kit!!
First 2 mags had a few FTEs and after that it ran flawless, infact the last 2 mags I ran through as fast as I could pull the trigger without 1 problem!  ETA: I hosed my Ceiner kit down with Rem oil and used cheapo Blazer ammo! All your page 2 belong to me!!111!! |

I have 2 ciener kits m16 work perfect semi or fullauto blackdog mags I just got work great but time will tell

Definitely keep it well lubed, my Colt .22LR conversion had an OOB and blew the extractor into parts unknown. About $50 for Colt to fix it.

I think the 261 with 14 inserts is the one I am trying out. Ran it yesterday and it worked fine.

Cool, I'm sending out my money order for the m261 tonight to the member here selling it.......I cant wait. He's in Ky and Im in AZ so it'll probably be a couple of weeks before I have it.
