I just watched Re:Zero, episode 2 of 2 of 2.
 While it starts off with more character building, it does kick in some intensity. I am now, more than ever, sticking to my position that Ram, yes, RAM, is best girl in series. Ram is a bad ass bitch. I used to hate Emilia because she wouldn't put Barusu out of my misery. Now I just hate her because she kinda sucks. |

Speaking of which: what the hell is up with all these isekai anime where the MC is desperately trying to get back to his world?
Now, if you're in a situation like Natsuki Subaru it'd make sense to me. However, if you're a loser and/or totally unhappy with your life and you get transported to a very favorable new world where you are OP AF, have a harem, etc... WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU TRYING TO GO BACK TO YOUR OLD LIFE?  |

I wondered the same thing and all I could come up with is that even people who hate their situations have people and some things they care about. If the character could easily travel back and forth between world's they probably would love their new situation but not being cut off completely.
Imagine being dropped into a new world where everything and everyone you cared about even a little bit was lost forever. You would probably get used to it eventually and may end up liking or loving it but it would be sad for most people at first. I personally don't know anyone who wouldn't be upset once that realization hit. |
