So we've been hit by terrorists living here in-country. We are gathering up any known accomplises.

If there is another strike, are we gonna go into a mode like McCarthy-ism back in the 50s? How will we be able to avoid it? Americans are not going to sit idley by while our enemies live and move freely amongst us. What is going to happen?

McCarthy was not totally wrong by any counts. He sure did go off the deep end and started accusing everyone. But consider how many of the people he accused were in the entertainment industry. Anyone read any of the posts on this board? I guess that throws most of ar15.com members into the McCarthy category. Is there any doubt that a large percentage of the entertainment industry are at a minimum socialists. More would likely be overt communists were it not likely to affect their OWN bank accounts.

I didn't mean to debate the McCarthy thing. I was just wondering if we have something in store for us like it in the future.

Any outright persecution of gun owners would likely spark a huge backlash.

But we're starting to see HCI at work already.  Today it's a ban on imported hi-capacity capable semi-autos.  Tomorrow it will be the re-classification of .50BMG's to Class III weapons.  Then, possibly the same for domestic manufactured firearms like the AR15.  All of these will have the same effect as the 1994 ban;  drive up the price to where the normal citizen can barely afford it.  That will keep the hunters happy while they get the "big guns" out of the way.  Then we'll see more of a push against "hi-power sniper rifles,"  A.K.A. anything greater than a .22 with a scope on it.  That's when the hunters will get pissed.

Somewhere in there you'll find a proposed 100% or more tax added to completed ammunition as well as to the components to make ammunition, which will also be heralded as a way to keep people from making bombs.  They're not going to make owning firearms illegal.  They're going to make owning and shooting firearms expensive.  It's the easiest way to get to their ultimate objective.

This is if there are no attacks on groups of people by terrorists.  If that happens, you'll see swift and immediate action to ban all sorts of stuff, and it will pass.  We, as Americans, have forgotten our history and I think after all is said and done we're not going to have much of America left.  Welcome to the United Police States of America. [:(]

God Bless Texas

No, I don't think so. If this starts to get out of hand we can act then, right now its time to KICK ASS.

Senator Clinton....are you now or have you ever been a communist? Please remember you are under oath and at risk of perjury.
