Hell, I read the article. He may be right about several things. I certainly don't want to admit that I agree with him about anything but...
I can understand his concern. Bush has been getting on TV and telling the American public about how we are going to get some payback real quick. I'm not sure that we can really do that. Not in a conventional way anyhow. We are not really gonna need all these troops that everybody is talking about. We are just going to need several highly trained groups for covert ops. Going to war with a country would be stupid, wreckless and then end up resulting in many more civilian casualities,,, which would turn our current support from our own citizens and foriegn affiliates into condemnation. We will have to be very careful here, as to not damage our credibility. For as soon as we do,,, then it becomes all the more easy for bin Laken to make others believe that we are truly the great Satan that he says. Our total loyalty to our country can sometimes blind us to the perceptions of others. You just have to take that into account sometimes. Unfortunately his quote about the people attacking out of fear and hopelessness was inacurate. They attack out of the fear and hoplessness that bin Laden has brainwashed them into believing. The trouble with Farrakhan is that he is much like one of the KKK leaders, in that he tells half truths about emotional situations, thereby sucking the weakminded into his distorted logic, by making his message so much more believable. Only thing I can say is: I've never heard of any of the "Leaders" ever strapping a bomb to themselves to make a point. Only way they die is when some one takes them out with a booby trapped cell phone or assassination.
Kind of like "Hitler" I don't ever recall him getting in the trenches and going toe to toe with any soldier. Unfortunately, we have had American leaders, that attempted to run a war, from the comfort of an armchair in the states (Vietnam). |

You know why people did not start a mass panic over christianity when McVeigh bombed the OK Building? Guess what? He wasn't fighting a "Holy War". Never one time did he say the word God when he was explaining why he did it. God did not factor into his motive. But if Allah factors into these peoples motives, then there is at least some justification in some apprehension over the Islamic religion.
