I spent an hour checking it out and comparing it...
So far, i think it is a better gun than the Glock

Looks like the chamber has more support in the 6 oclock position than the Glocks, so it is safer for me to shoot my reloads. The bbl appears to have standard rifling, so I can shoot lead bullets too

Tired it with wadcutters..and just like the Glock it is does not like those
Only my Kimber feeds wadcutters reliably. Most guns hiccup on these bullets.
Not a big deal though. Fed everything else I tried in it reliably.

The grip is not much wider than a 1911, and thinner than a Glock...13 +1 capacity

I chosed the flat dark earth color for the frame...

Ordered a Thunderwear holster for it as I plan for it to be my CCW piece.

Now I need to order some Coyote brown furniture for my AR, so it can match my pistol.
Have to be color coordinated

A guy at my local range had one. I asked him if we could trade for a few rounds(I have a glock 30)

The pistol is very nice, I like the stock sites better on the XD, but I think the grip is too thin. I like the thick grip of the 30 a lot. The XD 45 seemed to have more muzzle flip compared to the glock IMO.

For the .45 I prefer the glock, in 9mm I prefer the XD

The grip on the 30 was just too thick for me.
The XD in .45 did not seem bigger than the .40 S&W model I compared it too.

I am half tempted to get an XD in 9mm. Seemed like a sweet little gun. Maybe someday

The only thing I don't like is the trigger. It looks like I can fix that myself fairly easily.

Nice. I've been trying to trade my BHP for one. No takers yet though.

The G21 and G30 grips just don't fit my hand too well (short fingers).  That's the reason I carry a G39 (.45 GAP).

I had one of the original XD40s - it was an OK pistol, but not really anything to write home about.  Now that they've fixed the finish problem I'll look to return by purchasing an XD45 Tactical (5" barrel).

From the looks of things, it isn't going anywhere.

Even with an offer to take any reasonable trade, nobody is interested. Nobody seems interested in buying it outright either.

Nice piece!

I'm seriously eyeing one.  It's this little part that bothers me and has kept me from getting one so far:

I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it does.

That same thing used to bug the crap out of me, till I asked around about it.  Once I knew it was there to make back of the skull executions easy (silly Balkan design ) I thought it was kind of cool.  I don't mind it on my XD45.  If you don't like it get the longer 5" XD, it doesn't stick out on that one.

I think a solid guide rod is available on the aftermarket....it is standard on the 5" model.

It doesn't bother me any.

Except when it comes to fast reloads.

Mine reloads nice and fast...the magazines drop free.

First thing I did with it was to take out the magazine safety.

Oh, well.  As long as it serves a purpose.

BANG-splatt.
