+1 on the above. CPF members get discounts so you can get 123s for $1/cell. And check out the performance graphs on CPF ... the BS 123s perform very well at high-drain applications! |

Huge +1 to the batterstation.com batteries. I am a CPFer as well, so I get them for a buck. Come on over to CPF, we can show you how to get 800 Lumens out of your 3D M*glite, and we can tell you WHY it is M*glite, and NOT the real spelling.
Also, if you want to keep a bunch of 123As in storeage, this is the best way I have found. (It was the SAME price as a Surefire SC1)

I can't tell you where to buy. As far as the batteries Consumer reports has done many tests of the standard household sizes (D, C, AA, AAA). Their recommendations are: 1. "Heavy Duty" batteries are a waste of money. Even though they cost half of what alkalines cost alkalines last three to six times longer. 2. About standard alkalines, you can buy by price and not brand because all alkalines last about as long as all the others. So, generic alkalines tend to be the best deal. 3. The new improved alkalines (Duracell Ultra & Energizer E squared) are not worth the money. While they do last slightly longer than standard alkalines, they are not worth the extra cost. |

I would like to add something here. Duracell Ultra, Energizer e2 Titainium, Duracell Power Pix, Duracell Ultra Gold blah blah, and Energizer Lithium will give you about regular performance in normal applications. In high drain applications, they are worth it and they do give longer life. So Energizer's Energi-To-Go cell phone charger (brand new product btw) uses Lithiums. Digital cameras will run better on these premium batteries, iPods, PDAs, etc all work better with premium batteries. For old fashioned applications, regular alkalines are the way to go. |

i used to
from when i used to work there, the promotion was 5-for-10 which was a mix and match deal on aa. aaa, c's, d's and 9volts. as for cr123's and cr2520s and all that its a rip off at 3.79 a piece! everyone uses us for the 5-for-10 deals, we beat bjs and all the other wholesale stores. |

I heard a Consumer Report segment on XM radio, and they said for regular alhkaline (sp?) Costco has the best deal for a jumbo pack where the cost is around 20 cents a battery. ETA: These were AA batteries.
