My PAC FAL has, what I believe to be, a gas plug for an Israeli gas block instead of the proper, long gas plug for the standard metric gas block.  The one in my FAL looks exactly like the one shown on DSA's web site as being the Israeli one.  The other type (for standard metric) has "lands and grooves" in it.

I wonder if that is why my op-rod bent??  It's possible because the shorter Israeli gas plug lets the op-rod into the cylinder whereas the longer pas plug would keep the op-rod within the opening to the bolt/carrier.

Did someone slap the wrong parts on my gun??

Those "in the know" please fill me in, thank you.

Go to the gunsmithing section of FAL Files, http://www.fnfal.com/falfiles, do a search on gas piston, and have an info orgy.
